OriginTrail

OriginTrail is an Ethereum-based ecosystem for supply chain use cases, founded in 2011. The idea behind the project is to employ the power of blockchain technology in the sphere of logistics and supply chain management. According to the official OriginTrail white paper, the ecosystem provides enterprise users an option to streamline their supply chain, improve item tracking and introduce better data protection practices.

As one of the first blockchain solutions introduced on a global scale, OriginTrail has been used by companies in numerous fields, including beef, poultry and vegetable distribution. Not only that, OriginTrail has partnered with big names in the industry like Microsoft Navision, Walmart, and Oracle.

Who Are the Founders of OriginTrail?

OriginTrail has three co-founders, who still have the top roles in the company. Tomaž Levak is the managing director. His professional interests before founding OriginTrail were directed towards project management and social activities. Levak has a masters degree in social sciences from the University of Ljubljana. He has an extensive portfolio of project management positions in different international companies and organizations.

Žiga Drev is the other co-founder and managing director of OriginTrail. He also graduated from the University of Ljubljana but specialized in finance and economy. As one of the founding members of OriginTrail, Drev has brought a wide variety of ideas for how the project should develop in terms of finance.

Another essential member of the OriginTrail founders’ team is Branimir Rakić, who also serves as the company’s chief technical officer (CTO). He has a Master of Science in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Belgrade. Mr. Rakić has a background in network engineering and web development. He was also a lecturer at the SAE Institute.
