A exchange de Criptomoeda ShapeShift adquiriu a startup de carteira de hardware de Bitcoin KeepKey.
Anunciado hoje, a ShapeShift continuará a usar a marca KeepKey, e sua equipe permanecerá para continuar trabalhando na linha de produtos de hardware. A KeepKey tinhaoriginalmente integradocom o ShapeShift por meio de sua API no verão passado.

O acordo – cujos termos não foram divulgados – representa a primeira aquisição de uma startup focada especificamente em produtos de hardware.
"Esta parceria não só garantirá o sucesso futuro da marca e da linha de produtos KeepKey, mas juntar-se à equipe da ShapeShift nos permitirá focar em continuar trabalhando no desenvolvimento de melhor Tecnologia e segurança para detentores de criptomoedas", disse Ken Hodler, diretor de Tecnologia da KeepKey, em um comunicado.
O acordo acontece meses após o fechamento da ShapeShiftuma rodada de financiamento de US$ 10,4 milhões. Na época, a bolsa contou com uma lista de apoiadores que incluía a Earlybird Venture Capital, que liderou a rodada.
Também segue uma iniciativa da KeepKey paraacabar com seu suporteno final do mês passado para a carteira de Bitcoin MultiBit de longa duração. A KeepKey adquiriu a MultiBit pela primeira vezem maio de 2016.
