He is the founder and CEO of Immunefi, the leading bug bounty and security services platform of the onchain economy, having directly prevented over $25 billion in hacks and thefts to date. Through Immunefi’s leading role in the onchain security, Mitchell has contributed to the security of major protocols like MakerDAO, Optimism, Filecoin, Stacks, Layer Zero, Chainlink, ZkSync, Arbitrum, Lido, Thorchain, Polygon, Decentraland, and countless others.
As Founder of Immunefi, Mitchell led or participated in dozens of onchain war rooms that saved billions from theft and negotiated the return of millions in stolen funds from international blackhat hackers. He developed the Scaling Bug Bounty Standard, played the leading role in driving adoption of bug bounty programs as a new security standard across the onchain economy, ultimately leading to creation of the most lucrative bug bounty programs available today, the biggest bug bounty payouts in online history. He helped create the Whitehat Safe Harbor framework as part of SEAL's founding working group on Safe Harbor.
Beyond blockchain security, Mitchell is also a Founder of Instituto New Economy, Portugal’s leading blockchain think tank and association. Through the policies and labors of the Institute, Portugal has become a major hub in the onchain economy, and Europe’s leading onchain innovator. Instituto New Economy is the creator of Europe’s leading regulatory event, the Reg3 conference.
