Coinbase sta pianificando di lanciare un'app di messaggistica Ethereum
La startup di exchange e wallet Bitcoin Coinbase ha presentato un nuovo prodotto di messaggistica Ethereum attualmente in fase di test.

Secondo quanto dichiarato oggi dal suo amministratore delegato in alcune dichiarazioni online, Coinbase starebbe lanciando un nuovo marchio sussidiario incentrato sulla messaggistica sicura e sui pagamenti basati su blockchain.

Annunciato oggitramite Twitterdal CEO Brian Armstrong, l'azienda sta ora testando un prodotto chiamato Token, un portafoglio e un browser perapplicazioni decentralizzateche ora opera sulla testnet Ethereum . La presentazione è stata dettagliata in un post del blog che ha paragonato il progetto a WeChat, il popolare servizio di social media che è stato citato come fonte di ispirazione per altri progetti di pagamento blockchain di recente.
, Coinbase ha presentato Token come un'estensione della sua missione di lunga data di utilizzare valute digitali basate su blockchain come mezzo per raggiungere l'inclusione finanziaria.
Il post recita:
"Crediamo che tutti nel mondo dovrebbero avere accesso ai servizi finanziari e, con la diffusione sempre maggiore degli smartphone, la valuta digitale può rendere ciò possibile."
Oltre al suo servizio di portafoglio Coinbase, la startup gestisce anche un altro marchio sussidiario, GDAX, un servizio di cambio per asset digitali e valute digitali in più di30 stati e territori degli Stati Uniti, così come Canada, Regno Unito, Australia, Singapore e alcuni paesi europei.
Tra le funzionalità che Token cercherà di offrire c'è un punteggio di reputazione integrato che si adatta man mano che gli utenti interagiscono con la piattaforma. I futuri aggiornamenti delineati nel post includono il supporto per la piattaforma di identità decentralizzata uPort.
Il post del blog ha inoltre indicato che il prodotto cercherà di migrare verso la versione liveblockchain di Ethereumnei prossimi mesi, anche se non è stata resa pubblica alcuna tempistica ufficiale.
Come indicato nell'annuncio, il prodotto è simile aaltri sforzi per creare piattaforme di portafogli mobili basate su Ethereum, attualmente la seconda blockchain pubblica per capitalizzazione di mercato.
