Verifone Partners With BitPay to Support Crypto Payments
Rollout will commence later this year across Verifone’s merchant network in the U.S.
Автор Jamie Crawley

Payment technology provider Verifone is to support crypto payments through a partnership with crypto payments provider BitPay.
- Merchants in the U.S using Verifone’s software will be able to offer crypto as a payment option once the system is rolled out later this year, according to an announcement Tuesday.
- BitPay supports wallets such as Blockchain.com and MetaMask to enable purchases in six different cryptos, including bitcoin, ether and dogecoin, and five U.S. dollar-pegged stablecoins including USDC and BUSD.
- Funds will be settled in the merchant’s bank in fiat currency via Verifone once the transaction has been approved by BitPay.
- Verifone provides payment solutions for 600,000 merchants and oversees nearly 10.5 billion online and in-store transactions worth over $440 billion each year.

Specialized AI detects 92% of real-world DeFi exploits

New research claims specialized AI dramatically outperforms general-purpose models at detecting exploited DeFi vulnerabilities.
What to know:
- A purpose-built AI security agent detected vulnerabilities in 92% of 90 exploited DeFi contracts ($96.8 million in exploit value), compared with 34% and $7.5 million for a baseline GPT-5.1-based coding agent running on the same underlying model.
- The gap came from domain-specific security methodology layered on top of the model, not differences in core AI capability, according to the report.
- The findings come as prior research from Anthropic and OpenAI shows AI agents can execute end-to-end smart contract exploits at low cost, accelerating concerns that offensive AI capabilities are scaling faster than defensive adoption.
