Verifone Partners With BitPay to Support Crypto Payments
Rollout will commence later this year across Verifone’s merchant network in the U.S.

Payment technology provider Verifone is to support crypto payments through a partnership with crypto payments provider BitPay.
- Merchants in the U.S using Verifone’s software will be able to offer crypto as a payment option once the system is rolled out later this year, according to an announcement Tuesday.
- BitPay supports wallets such as Blockchain.com and MetaMask to enable purchases in six different cryptos, including bitcoin, ether and dogecoin, and five U.S. dollar-pegged stablecoins including USDC and BUSD.
- Funds will be settled in the merchant’s bank in fiat currency via Verifone once the transaction has been approved by BitPay.
- Verifone provides payment solutions for 600,000 merchants and oversees nearly 10.5 billion online and in-store transactions worth over $440 billion each year.
