Unlike traditional PoW systems that consume vast amounts of energy for mining, Qubic's UPoW leverages mining capacities for AI training, making it more energy-efficient and productive. The platform is powered by 676 Computors (validators) who are responsible for processing transactions, executing smart contracts, securing the blockchain, and communicating with Oracle Machines.

Qubic ensures the reliability and finality of results by requiring a Quorum of at least 451 Computors (2/3+) to reach the same conclusion. This direct “bare metal” code execution allows for fast Turing-complete smart contract execution, with an average block time of just 7 seconds.

The platform is founded by Sergey Ivancheglo, also known as Come-From-Beyond, the creator of NXT and co-creator of IOTA. Qubic is a community-driven, open-source project under an anti-military license, promoting collaboration, innovation, and transparency.
