Payments giant Mastercard has minted its first non-fungible token (NFT), teaming up with AS Roma head coach José Mourinho to do so, the company announced Thursday.

  • This unique NFT is an animated digital soccer ball with Mourinho’s signature on one of the panels.
  • In a sweepstakes, one Mastercard cardholder in the United Kingdom will be randomly selected to win the NFT.
  • Mourinho, who took over at Italian soccer league giant AS Roma earlier this year, has won major club championships in England, Italy and Portugal and is widely considered among the world’s best soccer coaches.
