High Performance Blockchain is a blockchain architecture that follows a novel approach by combining both hardware and software. HPB is a permissionless structure and aims to solve the main problem of scalability that is hampering growth in the blockchain industry.

As the adoption rate of the technology grows, the transaction volumes are also increasing. The current available infrastructures are not able to handle such traffic causing congestion and slowdowns. The congestion in the network leads to higher transaction fees. Due to these issues, developers usually experience roadblocks in dApp development.

The HPB platform aims to tackle the scalability issue and add value to businesses while solving problems for consumers. HPB uses a proof-of-performance (PoP) consensus mechanism, which mainly considers the performance contribution of each participating node and other factors in the calculation.

HPB is the native coin of the platform. It is a governance token that is also used to incentivize the node holders.

The High Performance Blockchain architecture is developed and operated by the HPB Foundation. Wang Xiaoming is the founder and CEO of the project. The team at HPB consists of approximately 50 professionals, all from top universities and companies with relevant industry experience.

The total initial supply of HPB was 100,000,000 coins. The team adopts an inflationary model for coin circulation wherein the coin supply increases over time.
