Stratis is a blockchain development platform designed to enable Microsoft developers to develop blockchain solutions for different enterprises. Stratis is decentralized, secured, and energy-efficient that deploys blockchain projects for businesses and organizations. The Stratis infrastructure is based on the Bitcoin blockchain. The blockchain infrastructure of Bitcoin is combined with Stratis’ implementation of proof-of-stake. This combination produces a low carbon footprint because of its energy-efficient block production. Stratis aims to train the upcoming generation of blockchain developers worldwide to prepare them for in-demand blockchain projects in different industries.  

According to its whitepaper, Stratis blockchain-as-a-service (BaaS) is one of the significant features of Stratis. The BaaS offers customizable distributed ledgers as per the requirement of organizations using cloud computing with blockchain technology. BaaS allows developers to evaluate and deploy their blockchain-based applications in the cloud without maintaining the network. 

One-click deployment is another feature of Stratis that seamlessly deploys private blockchains for organizations using the cloud service. A one-click process can launch blockchains with improved speed and customized needs of the organizations.  

The Stratis ecosystem provides a toolset with various features for new developers. It reduces the entry barrier, and they can learn blockchain concepts with code examples and reference implementations. The ecosystem also offers advantages to the native token holders, and they can do staking and masternode deployment. Masternode is a part of blockchain infrastructure that sustains cryptocurrencies.

Stratis masternodes execute smart contracts and manage operational requests between Stratis and other platforms. Smart contracts are just like regular contracts. However, instead of being drafted on paper, these contracts run in the form of protocols on the blockchain. Masternode receives a 50 percent share of the rewards, providing a significant incentive. The platform focuses on sharing knowledge on blockchain and nurturing a global developer community by offering educational courses. The platform offers Stratis Decentralized Accelerator (SDA). SDA enables projects to launch with funding for their blockchain-based projects.  

The STRAX token is the native token of Stratis, which fuels the Stratis blockchain technologies. The token owners can use the coin as a value transfer vehicle and leverage it for smart contract execution.
