FAQ

Hector is a decentralized system, collateralized and guaranteed by the Hector DAO. Hector claims to be a decentralized autonomous organization (DAO), which means the crypto is controlled in a decentralized manner. Thus, the company intends to make the Hector project more community-driven by letting community members (HEC holders) vote on suggestions to steer the project's future.

Many organizations have either purchased Bitcoin or are planning to do so. This speculative anticipation of buying volume, combined with the fact that Bitcoin has not yet been thoroughly mined, is gradually driving up the price of Bitcoin. This effectively makes Bitcoin a short-term store of value. However, when Bitcoin's price cap is reached, price modifications that might reduce inflation would become more challenging to implement.

Hector DAO enters the picture here. Hector is a fork of Olympus and is a decentralized asset built on the Fantom Opera Chain. Hector DAO claims that a growing pool of DAI, USDC, FTM, and other assets backs Hector. The backing per HEC grows as the protocol adds liquidity and reserves, producing a continually increasing price floor below which HEC cannot fall. The whitepaper says that this meets the condition of a store of value to maintain a stable or growing price, indicating that HEC has a chance of becoming a prominent participant in the Fantom Opera Chain. Since HEC's supply is dynamic, a supply-induced price ceiling can be avoided, letting the industry flourish.

The native token of the platform is HEC. Hector expands its reserve base by offering bonds and allowing traders to trade HEC tokens straight from the protocol at a reduced rate.

Hector DAO was launched on November 19, 2021.
