Comdex is a blockchain-based decentralized finance (DeFi) platform. The platform focuses on bridging the gap between traditional or centralized finance and DeFi. Comdex aims to create synthetic asset protocols for allowing traders to access a broad range of assets in the financial markets and generate a maximum yield from safer avenues. The protocols are designed to unlock access to major commodity debt assets and liquidity, aiming to enable seamless capital flow from DeFi to centralized finance. 

According to the Comdex whitepaper, the platform is built with interoperability as a fundamental principle. Comdex claims that interoperability—the ability to exchange information with multiple blockchain networks—helps it aggregate liquidity from various DeFi ecosystems. Further, the platform aims to channel the aggregated liquidity into the conventional financial space. 

Comdex also functions as a decentralized exchange (DEX) for the trade of synthetic assets- assets that mimic the value of another asset. The platform allows users to trade in tokenized synthetic assets that provide them exposure to real-world assets across the globe. The DEX seeks to enable users to provide liquidity, borrow funds, and enter speculation on multiple assets. Comdex states that synthetic assets are an important factor in achieving its goal of democratizing the financial space. 

CMDX is the native cryptocurrency of the Comdex ecosystem. The digital asset functions as a utility as well as a governance token. The platform allows CMDX holders to control and operate key parameters and decide on network modifications. Comdex also collects transaction fees and rewards liquidity providers in CMDX tokens. 

Comdex mainnet was launched in November 2021, though enterprise trading began in November 2018. The platform was cofounded by Abhishek Singh and Siddharth Patil—CEO and COO of Comdex, respectively. The Comdex whitepaper was co-authored by the co-founders themselves. The maximum supply of CMDX is capped at 200,000,000 tokens, out of which 25% is reserved for the team and another 25% for liquidity providers.
