Kira is described to be a next-generation interchain exchange protocol, engineered for cross-chain transfers and frictionless trading. On the one hand, Kira aims to deliver all the liquidity, performance and trading sophistication of a centralised exchange but without the custody, downtime and fraud risk that plague our industry. On the other hand, Kira offers stronger security guarantees than state-of-the-art DEXs, but with a powerful governance model that builds trust and engagement whilst actively resisting corruption.
KEX is a native staking asset of the Kira Network. Staking KEX is the most efficient way of claiming revenues from the protocol operations, such as block and fee rewards. KEX holders have the ability to become part of the governance and the validator set of the Kira Network. Kira’s governance has the ability to define interest rates for staking foreign tokens which in turn increases security and liquidity of our exchange protocol. KEX acts as a reserve currency in terms of which staking all other assets is valued.
