Що таке біткоїн ETF? Вони є відносно легким для придбання інвестиційним інструментом, який володіє біткоїном (BTC), оригінальною криптовалютою. Подібно до акцій, біржові фонди торгуються на біржах, можуть продаватися та купуватися протягом дня і доступні для придбання через звичайні брокерські рахунки. Перший біткоїн-ETF було запропоновано у США близько 2013 року Кемероном та Тайлером Вінкльвоссами, проте він ніколи не був затверджений Комісією з цінних паперів і бірж США (SEC). На січень 2024 року кілька заявок на такі фонди перебувають на розгляді у SEC від компаній, серед яких BlackRock, Grayscale, Fidelity, Galaxy/Invesco та Franklin Templeton. У разі схвалення крипто-ETF можуть суттєво розширити коло осіб, які можуть інвестувати в цифрові активи. У США протягом кількох років були доступні біткоїн-ф'ючерсні ETF, але останній раунд запропонованих продуктів, технічно відомих як спот-біткоїн ETF, є більш ефективним і бажаним продуктом.
