TAKE

Overtake is a smart contract-based marketplace for the exchange of game assets, built on blockchain infrastructure. It is designed to replace centralised and fragmented platforms used for trading in-game items, accounts, currencies, and digital collectibles.

The project enables trustless peer-to-peer trading using on-chain escrows. Ownership of digital assets is verified, transferable, and programmable, giving players full control over the value they generate. The platform is aimed at consolidating fragmented digital economies into a unified, transparent system using smart contracts to manage trade, identity, and payment flow.

Overtake was created by individuals with prior experience in large-scale Web2 game-asset platforms, including ItemBay and ItemMania. Its stated goal is to build an open and scalable digital economy by embedding trust directly into the protocol layer.

Overtake (TAKE) is the native token of the Overtake ecosystem. It functions as the core unit of coordination across all participants and services in the platform. The token is used to govern, incentivise, and facilitate interactions between players, traders, builders, reviewers, and service providers.

TAKE is used to:

• Participate in protocol governance, including parameter adjustment and proposal voting
• Offset or pay platform fees
• Access protocol services that require staking or holding the token
• Distribute incentives to users based on defined activities such as trading, building, and verification

The token is issued according to predefined rules via a mechanism called the Faucet, which distributes tokens based on performance metrics. Token sinks such as utility payments and staking requirements regulate its circulation.
