What is Codatta?

Codatta is an open, decentralised, multi-chain protocol that turns curated knowledge and on-chain metadata into data assets. It combines blockchain-based data infrastructure with a network of human contributors and AI agents to source, validate and maintain datasets. Core data packs include account annotations for AML/risk use cases and user-level attributes for personalisation in Web3 apps. Quality control uses a staged flow (submission, AI-assisted validation, community voting, acceptance) and a reputation system that influences a participant’s weight in decisions. The project frames data under its XnY model: X-Data (entity-centric), Y-Data (task outputs) and “Frontier Data” that blends both.

- **Data access & trading:** XNY is used to purchase and trade tokenised data assets within the Codatta ecosystem.  
- **Staking & governance:** Participants stake XNY to validate data quality and take part in protocol governance; reputation and staking influence decision weight.  
- **Incentive rewards:** Approved contributors and curators are rewarded in XNY for accepted data and ongoing usage of datasets.  
- **Interoperability:** XNY facilitates cross-chain data transactions and integration with external protocols.
