Sobre Sentient
SENT is the token of the Sentient protocol, which organises the GRID: a network of modular AI components called Artifacts (models, agents, data sources and tools) that can be combined in workflows via interfaces such as Sentient Chat. SENT is used to pay for access to Artifact-powered services, to stake on Artifacts as a curation signal and to participate in protocol-defined rewards. SENT is also used for governance, where staked tokens provide voting power over parameters such as reward distribution, treasury spending and protocol upgrades.
Sentient (SENT) is the token used in the Sentient protocol. The protocol describes the GRID as a network of modular AI components called Artifacts. An Artifact can be a model, an agent, a data source or a tool. Interfaces such as Sentient Chat can take a user request, route it through workflows, call one or more Artifacts and combine outputs into a single response.
- Payments and fees: Users and applications pay in SENT to access Artifacts and services on the GRID, with value flowing to the builders and other participants linked to those Artifacts.
- Staking and curation: Token holders can stake SENT on Artifacts to signal which ones they consider useful. Stakers can earn a share of revenue and token rewards linked to the Artifacts they back.
- Rewards and emissions: New SENT can be distributed as rewards to active ecosystem participants, with distribution guided by signals such as payments, staking and votes.
- Governance: Staked SENT is used as voting power in the Sentient DAO, where holders can vote on items including emissions parameters, treasury spend and protocol upgrades.
Sentient’s founders are:
Pramod Viswanath: Forrest G. Hamrick Professor in Engineering at Princeton University, associated faculty in Computer Science. His stated research interests include blockchains and communication algorithms, including work that uses deep learning.
Sandeep Nailwal: Co-founder of Polygon. He has held leadership roles connected to Polygon and Polygon Foundation.
Himanshu Tyagi: Associate Professor in the Department of Electrical Communication Engineering at the Indian Institute of Science (Bangalore). His academic background listed there includes a PhD in ECE (University of Maryland), a postdoc at UC San Diego (ITA Center) and work applying information theory to areas including cryptography, statistics and privacy.
