Zilla is a token that serves as the backbone of a growing ecosystem that seeks to bring liquidity and new use cases to the Avalanche network. The protocol’s in-built mechanism dynamically adjusts the token’s supply and pushes its price up or down relative to the price of the AVAX token. The token aims to become the primary utility token of the Avalanche ecosystem. Avalanche refers to an open, programmable smart contracts platform designed for building decentralized applications (Dapps).

The token is not pegged to a stable coin but instead to AVAX, as it believes that the Avalanche blockchain has growth potential. Stable coins refer to a class of cryptocurrency that offers price stability by pegging their market value to some external asset such as the U.S. dollar or gold prices, etc. 

The protocol has realized that the past algorithmic tokens lacked use cases. The token is developed to be used as a medium of exchange, and the protocol seeks to maintain its peg to 0.1 Avalanche (AVAX) token in the long term.
