FirstBlood (1ST) is an e-sport gaming platform allowing individuals to test their skills and compete in one-on-one and team versus team matches for popular online games, such as Legends, Dota 2, Counter-Strike, etc. The protocol aims to establish itself as the preferred global platform for skill-based e-sport competitors. The project focuses on becoming a leading brand in competitive sports associated with peer-to-peer gaming in regional and global tournaments.
As given in the whitepaper, FirstBlood is a group of gamers, geeks, marketers, designers, engineers, and community builders. The network is a decentralized e-sport platform that allows players to challenge each other and win rewards, made possible by smart-contracts on the Ethereum blockchain. Here, smart contracts are like regular contracts; however, instead of being drafted on paper, these contracts run in the form of protocols on the blockchain.
Further, the network intends to revolutionize combative gaming by implementing technological innovations. The platform seeks to solve the significant problems of the gaming industry, such as cheating, lack of trust, security, embezzlement, fraudulent activity, and more. FirstBlood network aims to allow skill-based competition without an intermediary like casinos or financial institutions. Ethereum seeks to allow swift, secure, and reliable processing of results and distributions from competitive e-sports matches. The FirstBlood protocol’s transactions aim to be publicly verifiable, viewable, counterfeit resistant, and not subjected to the risk of institutional processing.
Furthermore, the network has 1ST as its native token, which is an Ethereum-based ERC 20 token powering the FirstBlood decentralized application (DApp). The token is used as the challenge allocation contribution while competing against another player in a competition. The token is also a primary means to reward the witness and jury systems within the network.
