The 1EARTH tokens are locked using a smart contract that prevents the token from being available in the open market. Such a contract helps to protect the nominal value of the 1EARTH token and also ensures sustainable liquidity for the token. The 1EARTH token allows holders to associate themselves with cause-specific communities and enables donations to any project. Participation through staking the token also generates incentives for the holders. 

Projects on the EarthFund platform decide on their fees through unanimous voting. A standard 5 percent fee on transactions is fixed by the EarthFund platform for all projects. This 5 percent fee is introduced into the EarthFund treasury to ensure the platform's growth. Using a multi-sig wallet, users of the EarthFund platform access multiple tokens and make donations with the same. 

The EarthFund platform is headed by Adam Boalt, Michael Fellows, Alexander Vergara, Alexander Coleman, and Hakeem Abbas. The total supply of the 1EARTH tokens is at one billion.
