BitcoinX (BCX) is a fork project of the original Bitcoin cryptocurrency. BCX is an enduring project to attract organizational and developers' attention. The project aims to build an optimal Bitcoin system that allows the integration of various scenarios on the blockchain. According to its whitepaper, the project intends to integrate with payment, clearing and settlement, bills, evidence storage, IoT(Internet of things), gaming projects, etc., on the BitcoinX blockchain.

Running on the Bitcoin Network at block 498888, the platform also aims to evolve continuously and support all the products ranging from assets digitalization to smart contracts. The project intends to be reliable, environment-friendly, and easy to use with an efficient network by combining zero-knowledge proof and DPOS consensus. Zero Knowledge Proof is a unique protocol that authenticates one user's work without sharing extra information. In comparison, the Delegated Proof of Stake (DPOS) consensus model is how voting and delegation are made liberal for the users.

The BitcoinX Mainnet successfully launched Replay protection, SegWit, GPU mining, and Lighting network support on January 15, 2018. SegWit (Segregated Witness) is a Bitcoin platform upgrade used for changing the pattern in which data is stored. However, the Lightning network is a "Layer 2" blockchain that allows users to trade Bitcoin quickly. The BitcoinX platform was launched with a maximum supply of 210 billion BCX.
