Aquarius (AQUA) is a cryptocurrency designed to bring more liquidity, supercharge trading on Stellar, and manage its distribution across different market pairs. It assists in adding incentives for traders of SDEX and rewards for automated market maker (AMM) liquidity providers. Aquarius permits the community to specify rewards for specified markets via on-chain voting.

The Aquarius platform provides a wallet facility for traders. The wallet is committed to the initial airdrop, where 5 billion AQUA tokens were initially put in the wallet. The wallet’s funds were divided into five unique wallets due to the usage of claimable credits in the beginning airdrop. Every suitable wallet’s reward got split into five similar claims, with wallet holders required to claim 20% of the rewards monthly. After every phase, the unclaimed AQUA tokens get claimed for future usage by AQUA holders in the community DAO fund.

AQUA is native to the platform and the currency for on-chain voting and rewards in Aquarius. The token holders can vote for the market pairs that require select trusted assets and more liquidity. LPs (liquidity providers) and Traders earn AQUA on specified market pairs. AQUA plays a significant part in projects created on Stellar. Most AQUA tokens are distributed to market makers and network participants.

The platform offers incentives for liquidity providers. The primary use case of the tokens is to enhance liquidity on Stellar. This is achieved by incentivizing market makers on AMM LPs (liquidity providers) and SDEX. The token holders vote for market pairs needing liquidity to allot rewards. The AQUA token is also a utility token to control the Aquarius protocol via an on-chain DAO vote. AQUA tokens are integrated into different projects created on Stellar and deliver holders with extra advantages inside the stellar ecosystem.

Aquarius started its development at the end of 2020 while researching ideas to improve volume on SDEX. A sequence of internal conversations inside Ultra Stellar and trading feedback with multiple professionals in the space assisted the platform in shaping the base views around the project.
