SpreadCoin (SPR) is a unique cryptocurrency that claims to be more decentralized than others. SpreadCoin utilizes a more compact model for signatures in trades. SpreadCoin, as well as other cryptocurrencies, operates ECDSA signatures. While other cryptocurrencies duplicate the public key of the related signature around, SpreadCoin omits this by retrieving the public key straight from the signature. By this process, it is unnecessary to maintain the public key of each ECDSA signature in the blockchain, which results in small transactions and, therefore, a smaller blockchain.
