Dentacoin is a blockchain-based solution for the global dental industry. The platform is a secure blockchain infrastructure that aims to offer patient-centered care, improve long-term health, reduce costs and pain, and benefit all market participants. The core mission of Dentacoin is to enhance the quality of dental care globally, minimize the cost of every dental treatment, and build a community based on the dental industry. 

According to the whitepaper, Dentacoin is planning to develop various tools focusing on different sectors of dentistry. In addition, the project seeks to offer Dentacoin tokens as rewards to the individuals who use these tools. Besides, they can use these tokens for dental treatments or purchase dental products.

The DCN token is the native token of Dentacoin, an ERC20 token that runs on the Ethereum network. Ethereum seeks to enable reliable and secure transactions with the Dentacoin smart contracts. Smart contracts are just like regular contracts. However, instead of being drafted on paper, these contracts run in the form of protocols on the blockchain. Besides, Dentacoin smart contacts seek to automate the transaction fees, enabling users to transact without worrying about fee payment.

Moreover, the platform plans to distribute the total funds raised during the ICO (initial coin offering). Of the funds raised through ICO, 40% is allocated to the platform's core development and 25% to operational expenses. While 25% is reserved for marketing and sales, 10% is allocated to legal and compliance.

In the first quarter of 2017, the Dentacoin Foundation was founded, and the DCN token was released. Also, the second version of the whitepaper was published on November 28, 2018. The founder of the Dentacoin Foundation is Prof. Dr. Dimitar Dimitrakiev. He has more than 27 years of experience in the financial markets. Moreover, Philipp Grenzebach and Jeremias Grenzebach are the cofounders of the foundation. Jeremias Grenzebach has eight years of experience in peer-to-peer technology.
