Contentos' mission is to build a digital content community that allows content to be freely generated, distributed, acknowledged, and traded while safeguarding author rights.

The platform aims to create a decentralized traffic distribution model that encourages users to distribute and share content to the appropriate audience. The platform uses a blockchain network to ensure that copyright verification and transactions are completely transparent. Contentos also strives to provide an immutable credit system wherein users are responsible for their credit score, which is generated based on every effort made by users. 

According to the whitepaper, Contentos seeks to be an open content protocol that carries content and advertising values. The platform aims to operate as a memory chain that records each user's contributions. Contentos seeks to employ smart contracts to seamlessly perform transaction payments and bonus distributions without the involvement of a third-party mediator.

Contentos attempts to resolve the challenges that contribute to regular copyright problems by using the Contentos protocol to verify, transfer, and store non-physical property rights. The process leads to rapid and complete access to copyright information via the platform. The platform also offers to keep a continuous record of the content providers' trade balance and copyright work on the blockchain.

COS is the Contentos platform's native token. COS is ERC-20 Token Standard tokens built on the Ethereum network. COS tokens are being used to incentivize content production, selection, distribution, storage, and verification on the Contentos network. Contentos aims to offer a digital asset wallet for storing COS tokens. The network also looks forward to launching COS.TV, their video platform, is driven by the Contentos blockchain.

Contentos began its operations in May 2018. The CEO and founder of the Contentos platform is Mick Tsai. Contentos tokens have a total supply of ten billion COS coins.
