Constellation was launched in 2017 by co-founders Benjamin Jorgensen, Benjamin Diggles, Mathias Goldmann, and Wyatt Meldman-Floch. In June 2018, the creators launched Orion, a platform that allows the community to receive DAG tokens by participating in various Constellation events. The protocol's native token, DAG, was introduced as an ERC-20 token. In relation to its security features, Constellation signed a deal with the U.S. Air Force in 2019 to automate its big data management.
