Here, DAO refers to an anonymous community responsible for automating the decision-making process in a blockchain. The platform surveys Ethereum users to come up with easy-to-apply insights for protocols. The currency ensures the trustworthiness of received responses by verifying them through cryptography. According to its whitepaper, Gas DAO's goal is to provide on-chain and off-chain governance to Ethereum users.

Moreover, the currency aims to build a system that would customize and conduct surveys on partner-branded subdomains. These surveys would require participants to log in with their Ethereum account and sign a transaction. Once Gas DAO receives all the responses through the survey, its team processes the data and comes up with valuable insights for the protocols.

Gas DAO has also announced the Gas DAO Insights mechanism to provide on-chain DAOs as a service. Gas DAO Insights refers to a data-driven business development department of this asset that ensures the possibility of more scientifically accurate strategy insights for protocols by conducting paid surveys.

Gas is the ERC-20 governance token of Gas DAO. The token holders of GAS with over 1B tokens can submit governance proposals. The network has also allocated 30%, 55%, and 15% of the total token supply for DAO treasury, airdrop, and contributors, respectively. Airdrop is the marketing tactic to spread awareness about cryptocurrency by sending it to different wallets. Token holders can also delegate their tokens to get additional GAS rebates.
