The Illuvium game became a desire for many NFT gamers in the current crypto market. However, its gaming mechanism involves other tokens such as Escrowed Illuvium (sILV). Illuvium is an NFT role-playing game and an auto-battler developed on the Ethereum blockchain. All over the world, there is an open-world RPG experience where a user can harvest, mine, capture, and combat Illuvials which are deity-like beings. The Illuvial have their set of classes, stats, and affinities. Once the team is built, a user can join the action in the auto battler, where the user can design their teams to defeat the opponent. 

The game lets users customize their character, select a Polymorphic Subordinate Drone (sidekick), explore various regions, capture Illuvials, mine Shards, unlock Obelisks, and more. Before the game's launch, $ILV holders may stake ILV tokens to access the liquidity mining program. The liquidity mining program allocates ILV tokens to Illuvium community members from the Illuvium treasury. 

Illuvium is a fully decentralized protocol that brought a new age to gaming. Its whitepaper states that the protocol was designed to ensure the game's stability and governance and offer players with better blockchain mining experience. Stakers receive regular token distribution and have the right to vote on tokenomics concerns and game enhancements. Once the game is released, users can stake $ILV to support the game and its governance mechanism in exchange for access to governance and distributions from in-game fees. The project aims to create a fully decentralized game that can function autonomously.

ILV is an ERC-20 token of the Illuvium platform. The ILV token comprises voting right in the protocol. Therefore, electing the Illuvinati Council and game improvement proposals is based on the community members' voting power. 

sILV2 is a synthetic token) of ILV used in the game for things like travel and shard curing. Synthetic tokens are collateral-backed tokens, and their value varies according to the tokens' reference index. The sILV2 token is obtained by staking the ILV token in the protocol. For in-game spending capacity, sILV2 is linked to the value of ILV. However, players cannot use sILV2 for trading Illuvials with other players. 

The co-founders of the Illuvium game are Kieran Warwick and Aaron Warwick (game designer). The initial prototype of the game was completed in November 2020, and the public beta launch of the game took place in 2022.
