Moreover, the platform claims that the game has depth and complexity designed to attract elements of a truly decentralized ecosystem as well as those looking for a pure and competitive gaming experience. 

The game is set in Planet Earth Zero, in the year 23100. According to the platform, the game is set in an era when the ozone layer does not exist, and oceans have turned into sand dunes—all due to a singular event called the ‘2nd Impact.’ The game includes comets, missiles, tanks, and a fight for supremacy over the planet.  

AOT is the native cryptocurrency of the Age of Tanks ecosystem. Players need the AOT token to access, play the game, and perform various tasks within the game, including staking their tokens for entering player-versus-player (PvP) battles and achieving top ranking. Players can also claim staking rewards by holding AOT tokens. In addition, ecosystem participants can use AOT to participate in network governance.  

Age of Tanks was created by Defination Studio, a blockchain-driven gaming startup seeking to enhance the quality and engagement of blockchain gaming. The startup was cofounded in August 2021 by Jackson Neo and Maestro Sim. However, the game is still in its beta testing phase as of January 2022. The AOT cryptocurrency has a maximum total supply of 300,000,000 tokens, out of which 10% is reserved for the core team and 20% for gameplay incentives.
