Haven-Protocol (XHV) is an ecosystem of private stable asset network. According to the whitepaper, the protocol is built on Monero, including the private stablecoin xUSD. Haven-Protocol aims to enable users to hold cryptocurrencies privately without the risk of volatility.

Haven Protocol is similar to an offshore traditional institution where users can create private tokens representing stable and volatile assets, including commodities and traditional currencies such as USD. Based on Monero, the protocol focuses on secure, private, and untraceable transactions.

Additionally, a “mint and burn” strategy allows for dynamic changes to the circulating supply of the underlying asset. Cryptocurrency burning is the process using which users can remove tokens from circulation, thereby reducing the number of coins in use. The strategy also makes it possible to maintain a safe haven's value relationship with its underlying assets.

The protocol was originally developed in January 2018 by two unidentified developers trying to create a decentralized private stablecoin. The new team launched the xUSD stablecoin on July 20, 2020, creating and birthing Haven Protocol’s mainnet. The main developers of the network are Dweab (project lead), Pierre Lafitte (product lead), Neac (protocol lead), and Marty (front-end lead).
