Minswap is a decentralized exchange (DEX) that operates on the Cardano blockchain. It aims to provide a multi-model liquidity pool that benefits both traders and liquidity providers. Minswap has a distinct approach to token distribution, with MIN tokens being distributed without any private or venture capital involvement. This approach is designed to reward the community of users, rather than speculators and insiders. Minswap has features such as the FISO model and a focus on Protocol Owned Liquidity.

Minswap operates as a decentralized exchange, enabling permissionless trading of token pairs. For each swap, a fee is taken, which goes to the Liquidity Providers (LPs). Anyone can provide liquidity, decentralizing the profits. Minswap also allows anyone to list tokens without needing KYC, making it a permissionless platform. It also supports Stake Pool Operators through various initiatives. Minswap's MIN tokens are distributed to protocol participants and Liquidity Providers, who may participate in governance and vote democratically on protocol changes.

Minswap can be used for a variety of purposes in the decentralized finance (DeFi) space. It allows for permissionless trading of token pairs, enabling users to swap tokens without the need for a centralized exchange. Liquidity providers may receive compensation from each swap, providing an incentive for users to contribute to the liquidity of the platform. Minswap was launched after successfully receiving funds in Catalyst Fund 5 and completing the Plutus Pioneer Program. It deployed its testnet and launched the FISO model, a novel way to distribute tokens to community members. Minswap published its solution to concurrency, Laminar, which aims to execute accounting-style smart contracts multiple times in one block. After a security audit by Tweag, Minswap launched on Mainnet. Subsequent developments included the introduction of Yield Farming V2 and the verification of tokens to protect Minswap users.
