The MWC development team strives for technological and economic innovation in order to maximize the MimbleWimble protocol's benefits. The MWC team has created a functional GUI (graphical user interface) wallet and developed a method for secure offline cold storage of MWC. The team also completed an MWC/BTC atomic swap and is investigating the development of a mobile node (point of intersection within a network). An atomic swap is a transaction in which coins from different blockchains are exchanged.

The MWC network launched in November 2019. The whitepaper was released on July 19, 2016. MWC has a maximum supply of 20,000,000 coins.
