ShapeShift's governance process has three steps. The forum is the first step in the proposal creation process. A forum is where ideas can be proposed, developed, collaborated, and then refined, getting ready for the next phase in the proposal process. So, an idea is posted in the forum to seek community feedback. The second step is ideation. Once a proposal or idea meets the criteria to progress, it can leave the forum for a more formal vote at ShapeShift.com and move to the boardroom, where FOX token holders can start voting. The "Ideation" section is where users find the early stages of developing proposals. The voting style in the boardroom is much like an upvote (comment option is also available) and helps show the greater DAO community the proposals that are increasing in popularity. The format is drafted into ShapeShift Community Proposal (SCP) format in this step. This draft is posted in the forum in the proposal discussion category for final feedback. In order to gauge sentiment, a for-or-against poll is included. The final step is live voting. Here the voting period is set for 72 hours. The quorum is a minimum of four million FOX.
