Squirrel Finance is an ecosystem that offers secure and simple yield-farming techniques and is built on the Binance Chain (BSC). The ecosystem aims to facilitate users with a decentralized insurance solution that automatically compensates users with yield if their funds are locked or stolen. Consequently, Squirrel Finance intends to provide users extra protection from the risk of 'rug' or a code bug. As its website suggests, Squirrel Finance has been rebranded to Moonshots.Farm, which aims to be a hub for fun similar farm games, including FarmFomo,the highly requested FarmGoogame, and many more in the future.

According to its whitepaper, the ecosystem is an insurance platform that aims to facilitate users with solutions for any issues that would prevent them from withdrawing and receiving their funds. Besides this, the platform also intends to help users in cases such as intentional "rugs" that steal deposits, bugs in the farms, vaults, or smart contracts that accidentally lock funds, etc.

Further, Squirrel Finance offers two products wherein users may farm, including “Farms” and “Vaults.” Here, deposits vaults on Squirrel Finance automatically increase and compound; meanwhile, farms on Squirrel either accept a liquidity pool or a single asset as a deposit. Also, in the case of farm deposits, users earn a different asset than the deposited asset, and rewards start accumulating immediately. However, Squirrel Finance may retire its farms or vaults from time to time to be up-to-date with the updates in the DeFi market.

NUTS is the native token that empowers the Squirrel Finance ecosystem. The ecosystem uses a reflection mechanism that enables users to receive rewards for staking their NUTS token in the NUTS Farm. In fact, the reflection mechanism is a process in which holders are rewarded with cryptocurrencies in their native form.

Squirrel Finance was originally built on Ethereum in 2020. The ecosystem was running on ETH for six months before the token was migrated to BSC for v2 farming.
