Coreum's design aims to accommodate applications that require high transaction volumes and speed, such as decentralized exchanges (DEXs) and financial applications.

Coreum was developed by the Sologenic Development Foundation Limited and its team of project members, known as the CORE team. The project's technical white paper was released in February 2023, outlining the blockchain's architecture, consensus mechanism, smart token features, and potential use cases. Since its inception, Coreum has been working towards addressing real-world problems at scale by providing native token management systems and facilitating the adoption of decentralized technology in large-scale organizations.
