Radiant (RXD) is a digital asset system that operates on a peer-to-peer network. It strives to address the challenges associated with scale, parallelism, and Turing Complete programming that are prevalent in existing blockchains. Radiant enables direct exchange of value without the need for a central party, similar to Bitcoin. It timestamps transactions into an ongoing hash-based chain of proof-of-work (SHA512/256). The network was initiated by a small group of individuals who sought to create a scalable, unbounded blockchain that integrates features from various blockchains such as Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana, and Cardano. Radiant is open-source, and its design is public, meaning that no one owns or controls it, and anyone can participate.

Radiant operates using peer-to-peer technology, with no central authority managing transactions or the issuing of Radiant units. It uses a proof-of-work consensus mechanism, similar to Bitcoin, but aims to achieve higher levels of throughput. Radiant introduces two techniques to validate digital assets: unique references and a general-purpose induction proof system, both of which operate in constant O(1) time and space. This allows users to compose outputs in any manner, without compromising the inherent parallelism and performance characteristics of an unspent transaction output (UTXO) based architecture.

Radiant aims to provide a platform for digital asset management with low fees, high performance, and advanced programming capabilities. It seeks to offer a solution to the problem of blockchain scaling and contracting using two novel techniques which provide unique references and a general induction proof system. This makes Turing Complete programs across transaction boundaries possible. The system proposed is decentralized, uses a proof-of-work consensus mechanism like Bitcoin, but aims to achieve higher levels of throughput, while providing the same flexibility of EVM-based blockchains, with very low fees.

Radiant was created and initiated as a community service by a small group of individuals who wanted a stable blockchain. The initiative was forged from the desire to have a scalable, unbounded blockchain that integrates features from various blockchains such as Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana, Cardano and more. There was never any public or private fundraising, no Initial Coin Offering (ICO), no securities offering, no VC, and no crowdfunding of any type. The network was fairly initiated similar to Bitcoin using pure proof-of-work from block height 0 and units of Radiant are emitted to the miners for energy expended according to the network's consensus policy.
