Akropolis has a fixed maximum supply of 4 billion AKRO tokens, which were initially distributed through two private token presales in 2018. The AKRO token was publicly listed in July 2019. The Akropolis suite of products utilizes the AKRO token in its protocol, with transactions validated through the Ethereum blockchain's proof-of-work consensus algorithm. The smart contracts for AKRO underwent an audit by blockchain security firm CertiK in August 2019.
