About Copper Futures (Aug 2026)
Copper Futures is a cash-settled contract that allows participants to manage risk, trade on margin, or speculate on the price of Copper. Each contract represents 2,000 lbs of copper. Futures contracts enjoy the 60/40 tax treatment, where 60% of the gains are taxed as long-term capital gains and 40% as short-term capital gains, regardless of the holding period.
