RFR, the platform's utility token, operates on Ethereum. Refereum, through the Ethereum blockchain, provides a secure, dependable, and auditable platform for game developers, influencers, and gamers to collaborate and be rewarded. The gamers are rewarded with RFR tokens with full transparency for their engagement and purchases. Also, game developers can purchase RFR tokens for rewarding influencers and players for specific actions. The RFR token seeks to be transferable from one user to another without any need for interaction with the Refereum platform. 

The utilities of RFR tokens are: Firstly, anyone can purchase games on the Refereum platform using RFR tokens and see their receipt on the blockchain. Secondly, game developers can pay RFR tokens to have their game featured on the platform and sponsor other engagements. Lastly, vendors of digital goods can pay RFR tokens to have their products listed for distribution.

Refereum launched its service in November 2017. The founder of the platform is Dylan Jones. The whitepaper was launched on January 25, 2018.
