Mike McCaffrey is the former CEO of The Block, an information services company focused on the digital assets space. Mike assumed the role of CEO in April 2020 after he served as the company’s COO from October 2019.
Before The Block, Mike was an investment banker at Citi, working on several acquisitions and equity offerings in the financial institution's space. Mike holds a BSc in Economics and Statistics from Carnegie Mellon University.
In December 2022, McCaffrey had to step down as CEO of The Block due to failing to disclose loans of $43 million from Alameda Research, the trading firm linked closely to the disgraced cryptocurrency exchange FTX.
