Non-Playable Coin (NPC) is a meme coin and NFT hybrid designed for the entire global population. The project's motto, “I support the current coin,” is a nod to the meme that gained popularity in 2018.

What sets NPC apart? Inspired by the non-playable character meme, NPC created an ERC20 token with a supply matching the total human population as of July 26, 2023. Each token can be converted into an NFT at a 1:1 rate. This design, known as a meme fungible token (MFT), bridges the gap between NFT and decentralized exchange markets. Users can switch between formats using the dApp, transforming tokens into NFTs or respawning them as meme coins. The most liquid form for trading is as an ERC20.

The project began by experimenting with NFT AMMs like Sudoswap, recognizing that ERC1155s were underutilized. NPC aims to demonstrate that ERC1155 tokens can scale to millions of users and unlock liquidity by making them fungible as ERC20 tokens.

Future plans include a customization tool for NPCs, allowing users to create and export profile photos. Additionally, NPC will develop infrastructure to better integrate ERC20 and ERC1155 liquidity. At its core, NPC is a purely entertainment-focused meme coin with no utility.
