To bolster security in decentralized artificial intelligence (DeAI), SingularityNET, a blockchain-based AI marketplace, has partnered with Mind Network, a specialist in fully homomorphic encryption (FHE), to launch the ASI Hub.

This new hub will focus on pressing issues such as AI agent identification, privacy, and the integrity of randomness in decentralized AI decision making.

According to the companies’ February 18 press release shared with Cryptonews, the ASI Hub is an initiative within the Artificial Superintelligence Alliance (ASI), a collaboration that also includes Fetch.AI, Ocean Protocol, and Cudos. These organizations collectively focus on developing decentralized artificial general intelligence (AGI), leveraging blockchain technology to create AI systems that are transparent, secure, and resistant to centralized control.

Addressing Security Challenges in AI

SingularityNET, founded in 2017, has been developing a decentralized ecosystem for AI services, allowing developers to create and monetize AI models without centralized control. However, as AI services expand, ensuring the security and authenticity of agents within decentralized environments has become a growing challenge.

Mind Network, founded in 2022 and backed by industry leaders such as Binance Labs and Animoca Brands, brings its expertise in cryptographic security to the collaboration. The firm specializes in applying FHE to ensure that sensitive data remains encrypted even during processing, an approach that can significantly improve AI privacy and security.

The ASI Hub will use Mind Network’s encryption technology to implement verifiable agent identities, a crucial measure for preventing AI impersonation and fraud.

Additionally, it will feature an on-chain verifiable randomness mechanism, a technology which ensures that AI-generated results are free from external manipulation.

“Fully homomorphic encryption has the potential to serve as a core component of decentralized AI, guiding us toward a reality where privacy and innovation evolve hand in hand,” said Goertzel, CEO and founder of SingularityNET. With the launch of the ASI Hub, Goertzel believes the company is taking another step in exploring “how FHE can be woven into AI ecosystems to support synthetic intelligence to be free, secure, and mathematically brilliant.”

Christian Pusateri, CEO of Mind Network, also underscored the significance of secure AI identities and trust mechanisms. “Ensuring tamper-proof, on-chain randomness for AI training, governance, and decision-making is a crucial advancement in creating a secure AI ecosystem,” he said.

SingularityNET Expands Collaborations in Decentralized AI

In addition to its work with Mind Network, in November 2024, SingularityNET partnered with the Mina Foundation, a non-profit organization behind the privacy-focused Mina Protocol, to advance decentralized AI through zero-knowledge (ZK) technology.

The partnership focuses on integrating the Mina Protocol’s lightweight blockchain with SingularityNET’s AI marketplace, exploring new ways to improve AI-driven decision making through ZK proofs.

In July last year, SingularityNET also announced an investment of $53 million in a modular supercomputer dedicated to decentralized AGI research. The first phase of this investment allocates $26.5 million towards integrating modular data center solutions from Ecoblox, GPUs and processors from Nvidia, AMD, and Tenstorrent, along with AI servers from Asus and Gigabyte.
