Former Estonian prime minister and former leader of the Estonian Reform Party, Taavi Rõivas, has joined the Board of Blockchain Centre Vilnius in an effort to help connect Lithuanian and Estonian blockchain stakeholders, according to the Centre’s press release.

Rõivas is planning to become an active member of the Board, planning on helping establish a partner Blockchain Centre in Estonia. In the press release, he said that his ambition was to promote the Baltic region and its potential for the industry, adding that, “I am joining the Board of Blockchain Centre Vilnius to ensure active synergy between Lithuanian and Estonian blockchain technology stakeholders both in public and business sectors.”

Eglė Nemeikštytė, CEO of the Vilnius centre, said that Rõivas will add “tremendous value” to the centre, because “small countries like Lithuania and Estonia have to work together in order to strengthen our positions in the global markets.”

Antanas Guoga, founder of the centre and member of the European Parliament, known in the industry as Tony G, also expressed his optimism for the cooperation with Estonia: “Strategic cooperation with Mr. Rõivas, globally known for his digital policies, will add real value to the global movement.” Cryptonews.com is backed by Mr. Guoga.

Rõivas is joining quite a well-known crew of blockchain and crypto pioneers. The Centre is already endorsed by prominent figures such as Lon Wong, President of the NEM.io Foundation; Eugene Dubossarsky, leading Australian AI expert and data analyst; Sonic Zhang, founder of ValueNet Capital; Robert Gaskell, COO/CFO of the Pillar Project; and many others.

The Blockchain Centre in Vilnius, first of its kind in Europe, connects partner centres in Australia and Asia and is a not-for-profit knowledge hub, meant as both a working space for blockchain technology companies and as a place for organizing educational events and workshops for the blockchain community. Cryptonews.com is a resident of the centre.
