MultiCampus, an e-learning center operated by the Samsung Group, has signed a deal with the Korea Blockchain Association that will see the two bodies offer a range of blockchain education courses.

The organizations say they will cooperate as part of efforts to improve South Korea’s blockchain industry base, as well as jointly develop and run specialist online training courses and qualifications. They also plan to launch a joint Blockchain Academy, offering basic courses in public and private blockchain usage.

MultiCampus provides IT courses and language training, but says it hopes the new partnership will allow it to move into the sphere of blockchain technology.

The Samsung Group has thus far channeled most of its blockchain activities through its Samsung SDS subsidiary. The company last year claimed it was working on a blockchain-powered platform for the public sector and conducted the world’s first blockchain cargo shipment.

In related news, the Korea Blockchain Industry Promotion Association (KBIPA) yesterday announced it had signed a memorandum of understanding with Silicon Valley’s Draper University.

The deal will allow the KBIPA to cooperate with Draper in the joint development and management of blockchain professional education, international training and education exchange programs and cross-border blockchain consultation initiatives.
