Chris Chung, Co-Founder of Titan, on Solana DeFi, DEX Aggregators and Stablecoins | Ep. 430

Last updated:

Chris Chung, CEO and Co-Founder of Titan, joined the Cryptonews Spotlight Podcast to discuss building Solana’s first Meta DEX aggregator, the evolution of decentralized trading, and why stablecoins and payments could drive the next wave of crypto adoption.

With a background in low-latency finance and Solana community leadership, Chung offered a grounded perspective on UX innovation, algorithmic optimization, and where Solana DeFi goes next.

What Is a Meta DEX Aggregator?

“A Meta DEX aggregator is actually an aggregator that aggregates other DEX aggregators.”

Titan’s core function is to find the best possible execution price by routing trades across multiple DEX aggregators like Jupiter, Raydium, and Meteora, rather than relying on a single source.

Why Aggregating Aggregators Matters

“It’s pretty arrogant to say that your algorithm will outperform 100% of the time across every single specialization.”

Titan’s Talos algorithm aims to outperform competitors by specializing across trade sizes and asset classes, dynamically adapting routes for best execution.

Titan Outperforms Jupiter – 80% of the Time

“Our algorithm does outperform Jupiter around 80% of the time, even in live conditions.”

Chung revealed that Titan’s Talos engine consistently beats Jupiter on execution, a feat that adds real value to high-frequency traders and sophisticated DeFi users.

Real-Time Quotes with Low Slippage

“We actually reduced slippage to around 1.5 to two basis points on it.”

Titan improves DeFi UX by streaming updated quotes every second, allowing users to trade with confidence, knowing the price they see is the price they get.

Why Solana Was the Only Chain Choice

“When we first started using Solana, it was a game-changer. The experience was totally different.”

Titan chose Solana for its speed, low fees, and superior UX, especially compared to EVM chains where latency and clunky interfaces remain barriers to adoption.

Solana’s Path to Flipping Ethereum

“If everything maintains the status quo, I definitely think Sol will flip Ethereum.”

Chris sees Solana’s latency advantages and increasing volume as catalysts to surpass Ethereum, especially if institutions begin recognizing its DeFi potential.

Titan’s Role in the Solana Stack

“We want to provide the best premier trading experience out there so that everybody can get outperformance on their trades.”

Titan positions itself as the leading frontend for spot trading on Solana, and plans to expand into DCA and limit order tools without chasing perpetuals or lending markets.

UX Strategy: Build, Integrate, Distribute

“We are adding new DEX aggregators and new DEXs to the algorithm every like three to four days.”

Titan moves fast – rapidly integrating liquidity sources and planning for API distribution, so other wallets and dApps can embed Titan’s execution logic.

DeFi Infrastructure Written in Rust

“Everything is written in Rust because that’s the only way you can kick off with the speed of Solana here.”

To support ultra-fast trade routing, Titan uses a Rust-based off-chain infrastructure with global servers to match Solana’s pace.

Real Quotes, Not Inflated Projections

“We simulate all the quotes whether that’s from Jupiter, DeepFlow, or us – and we update them fast.”

Unlike other platforms that inflate expected quotes, Titan shows realistic, slippage-adjusted trade prices in real-time.

Stablecoins and Payments: The Next Big Use Case

“Stablecoin market is very attractive for countries with extremely volatile currencies… That’s where I see the next catalyst for growth.”

Chris is most excited about stablecoin adoption in emerging markets, and how payments on Solana can replace outdated remittance systems.

Why the Market Is Down – and Why That’s an Opportunity

“Do I see SOL above 105 in the future? Definitely.”

Despite current macro-driven volatility, Chris is bullish on Solana long-term, urging users to focus on assets and protocols they believe in, and earn yield during downtrends.

Titan’s Distribution Plan

“Anybody that wants to integrate us… can just plug into our API and get Titan quotes.”

Titan will soon launch a public API, allowing wallets and interfaces to access Titan’s execution layer, spreading its technology across the Solana ecosystem.
