Pamir Gelenbe: Digital currencies 'are like a virus' #BTCLondon
"I think of digital currencies as a virus. You find out about it, you get it, it grows and grows inside you, then you pass it on," says Pamir Gelenbe.

Pamir Gelenbe kicked off today's Bitcoin London event with an interesting metaphor for crypto currencies.
"I think of digital currencies as a virus. You find out about it, you get it, it grows and grows inside you, then you pass it on," the event organiser said.
He went on to say he sees digital currencies as the future of finance and believes they will be adopted by the masses, even if this does take some time.
Gelenbe said he would have loved to have made Bitcoin London 2013 a two-day event and feels there is certainly enough subject matter to warrant a two-day conference. With every seat in the conference room taken and some attendees stood at the back, it's clear there is a huge appetite for information on Bitcoin and other digital currencies, so perhaps next year there will be a longer event.
"Hopefully this will be the first in a long line of events," Gelenbe added.
He concluded his introduction to the conference by repeating a phrase voiced in the past by Roger "Bitcoin Jesus" Ver: "Bitcoin is the biggest invention since the internet."
Gelenbe said he wholeheartedly agrees with this sentiment and believes bitcoin and other digital currencies will prevail as the currencies of choice in modern society.
