Jared Lenow is partner at Friedman Kaplan, where his practice focuses on white collar criminal defense and regulatory enforcement matters, internal investigations, and complex civil litigation. Immediately prior to joining Friedman Kaplan in 2025, Jared served for over a decade as an Assistant U.S. Attorney in the Southern District of New York. Jared was a senior member of the SDNY’s Securities & Commodities Fraud Task Force and one of its most experienced financial crimes prosecutors. He investigated and prosecuted a wide array of significant fraud cases, including the criminal investigation, extradition, and prosecution of Do Kwon, co-founder and former CEO of Terraform Labs, for charges relating to the $40 billion crash of the TerraUSD and LUNA cryptocurrencies, and the prosecution of the founder and former CEO of the cryptocurrency and foreign exchange trading platform EminiFX for defrauding over 25,000 investors of almost $250 million. Jared also served for three years as a Lecturer in Law at Columbia Law School, where he taught a seminar on federal criminal prosecution. Jared holds degrees from Swarthmore College and Vanderbilt Law School.
