Datamine Flux is a cryptocurrency that is a non-custodial and decentralized open-source financial system. The currency runs on the Datamine Network, which is a decentralized finance (DeFi) system that uses smart contracts to generate cryptocurrency. The deflationary nature of this protocol aims to ensure new Flux tokens are generated as dividends when the Datamine token is locked into the smart contract. Datamine Flux smart contracts are powered by Ethereum ERC-777 and written in the Solidity programming language. DAM is a base token of the Datamine ecosystem. The token is implemented on ERC-777 standards and deployed on Ethereum. On the other hand, FLUX is a supply token of the Datamine ecosystem and can be used for various purposes. As FLUX has a minting aspect, the ecosystem stays unaffected by the fixed supply aspect of DAM. Minting is the process of creating new blocks, verifying documents, and recording data in the blockchain.

Users can lock their DAM tokens or mint through this dashboard and burn their FLUX dividends. Burning is the process of getting rid of tokens from circulation to control the token's value. 

The FLUX token was first minted on June 23, 2020, by locking DAM tokens in the liquidity pool. According to the Datamine website, the total supply of the token is unlimited. The currency launched its platform on June 22, 2020, and enlisted its name under CoinMarketCap on August 21, 2020.
