The Axis portal allows users to perform swaps using any part of the DeFi ecosystem. Axis effectively combines DEX aggregation and DEX routing in a revolutionary cross-chain, layer-2 DEX solution. In the process of DEX routing, the most liquid pool that is available is sourced for users to perform a swap. Users can reduce slippage (difference in expected and actual price) when performing a transaction by sourcing the most saturated liquidity pool. Next, DEX aggregation refers to the process of leveraging multiple liquidity pools to do a single transaction. The DEX aggregation functionality is necessary while swapping an amount of value above a certain threshold. The threshold can vary from token to token.

According to the roadmap of the platform, the development of Axis occurred in four stages in 2021. The initial stage, Q1, involved the solidification of teams in Asia and America.
