John Glen, the Treasury’s Secretary, recently stated that the Central bank of the country (BOE) has no plans to issue a BOE-supported coin, although previously it had toyed with the idea. Besides, no formal discussion regarding the status of digital assets in the UK has taken place, he added.

Contrary to the UK government’s earlier plans, now it seems that they do not intend to regulate or adopt virtual coins and assets in any way, nor do they plan to use them as legal tenders.
